Raquel B. DeGarmo

Executive Director, Accredited Representative DOJ

With over 13 years of experience, and an education built on the  foundation of advocacy, including a B.A. in Social Work with a Spanish Minor; a Post-Bacc Certificate in Legal Studies; and a Master's Degree in Urban Education, Raquel strives to effect change beyond paperwork.

While Raquel believes that everyone deserves the right to live out their dreams, it is of the upmost importance that each client receives the education, transparency, and tools to make informed decisions regarding their case.

Raquel understands the sacrifice, grit, and sheer determination it takes to fight for what is just and for what her clients deserve. She believes that each client is deserving of dignified, equitable, and accessible immigration legal representation. Day in and day out, this is what she works so had to do!

Roxanne Duran

Office Manager

​Roxanne has experienced first-hand, the challenges that couples can face when pursuing an immigration process. Her experience in navigating the immigration system with her spouse allows her to approach client relationships with compassion and empathy.

Roxanne has worked in customer service for over 20 years, with 10 of those years in nonprofit advocacy work. She brings this expertise to her interactions with clients as she assists in navigating their cases from start to finish.

Jessica Gonzalez Mejia

Administrative Assistant

Jessica was born into a Mexican immigrant family who, from a young age, has experienced the struggle and realities of what the immigration process entails.

Having seen firsthand how Raquel has assisted so many, including some of her own family members, Jessica is excited to play a role in helping others through their immigration journey.

Jessica is currently working toward her degree in Business Administration through Grand Rapids Community College. She is a native Spanish speaker with 5 years of customer service experience and hopes to utilize these assets in her client interactions and looks forward to assisting her fellow community in achieving the American Dream.

Angel Chavez Rodriguez

Phone Intake Specialist

Angel was born in El Salvador and takes pride in his country. On a daily basis he enjoys the interactions with people of various countries and cultures. He has 4 years of experience working in customer service and engaging with clients from a wide variety of nationalities. 

Angel prides himself in working with clients through difficult situations and keeps empathy and a willingness to assist at the core of his values.

Angel's goal is always to provide clients with a great experience, using all the resources available to him.
